20-23 May 2025 ABVC Organization Development Workshop

Background The ASEAN Biodiaspora Virtual Center (ABVC) serves as a central hub for public health and epidemic intelligence, as well as a regional data repository for the ASEAN region. To enhance capacity in disease surveillance, epidemic intelligence, data analytics, and cross-border collaboration, the center aims to strengthen regional preparedness and response to emerging health threats, foster knowledge sharing, and promote innovative solutions for public health challenges. The Strategic planning workshop aims to align the ABVC initiatives with broader goals of pandemic preparedness and response in the ASEAN region. This workshop is crucial for setting up strategic priorities, defining actionable goals and fostering collaboration among ASEAN Member States and other stakeholders. Objectives The Main important output of the workshop will be to update ABVC TOR by reflecting the ABVC mandate, scope of work, road map, plan of actions, develop SOP to achieve future sustainability while strengthening the ABVC internal capacity and capability.  Scope of Work The workshop will include the following activities: 1. Updating ABVC Term of Reference (TOR) by conducting comprehensive review of the current TOR with the help from UKHSA expert team to draft and finalize by incorporating feedback from all relevant parties for further circulation at the SOMHD level for endorsement. 2. Developing SOP for ABVC operational as the basis for data sharing collection, analysis and reporting mechanisms. 3. Identifying plan of action to establish roadmap of ABVC in a long achievable term. 4. Strengthening ABVC internal capacity and capability through capacity-building program for ABVC staff focusing on key areas such project management and path of sustainability by developing and maintaining knowledge management system, secure funding and resources, etc.
